Psychological Therapy

Humans, from infancy to old age, are creatures that continue to develop. Sometimes there is a feeling that one is 'stuck' and going nowhere. Psychological therapy is a meeting between two or more people, with the intention of bringing spiritual tranquility to the person who has come for help.

People turn to psychological therapy for a vast variety of reasons. It can be for a specific reason or problem which plagues a person, frustration with an inability to cope with a problem, a behavior that has lingered for too long, and sometimes for more severe issues such as depression or anxiety. Psychological therapy isn't only for those searching for emotional relief from a specific problem. It is also helpful for people who want to develop their abilities, to grow beyond the place they are currently situated. Often people have a sense that they have unrealized potential or feel that they are stuck in their life or their relationship, but have no idea how to bring about change. Therapy can deepen a person’s inner connection and relationships with others, and over time enable them to find new and creative ways to develop.

In addition, therapy provides solutions for a wide variety of difficulties that a person may encounter in life:

low self-image, low self-assurance, social difficulties, attention deficit issues, anxieties, violence, and more.

Over the course of therapy the client acquires greater self-knowledge, which increases awareness of abilities and stumbling blocks. One develops tools in accordance with needs, such as: behavioral change (for example, controlling violent urges, controlling impulsive behavior), managing of emotions (such as anger, impatience), and changing one's approach to problems  (finding different solutions to various social situations).

Therapeutic techniques vary with each client, with different age groups, or with individual therapeutic goals, and can include:

• emotional training

• use of role playing

• use of cognitive-behavioral elements

• understanding of emotional blocks

• attention training

In all instances, therapy is grounded in creating an inclusive and accepting empathetic environment which offers a safe place for clients to make progress towards their goals.
