What is Physical Therapy?

  • Teatment of the skeletal system: muscles, joints, and nerves. Therapy includes rehabilitation and preservation of these systems, and the improvement of daily motor function.
  • Physical therapy with children includes: identifying developmental barriers from birth and onward, and achieving motor development milestones appropriate to every age. It also includes strengthening muscles which have been diagnosed as weak, or treatment of children who have been diagnosed as suffering from any problem which is connected to the skeletal system, including  muscles, or the neurological system.
  • A 3 year old child beginning pre-school is generally capable of executing all the motor activities of the adult population, although at a lower level. When there are difficulties or lack of coordination in executing specific motor activities by a child, physical therapy is recommended.
